Conrad F. Nagel III, DDS
Dr. Nagel did his undergraduate work at Bucknell University and Penn
State University before attending the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He graduated in 1957 and served in the Army Dental Corp for 2 years as captain.
Dr. Nagel then opened a dental practice in Pittsburgh and another in
Greensburg, PA. During this time, Dr. Nagel began teaching at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. His love for teaching lasted 28 years and he reached a position of Associate Professor of Crown and Bridge in the Restorative Department. During the last 15 years at the School for Dental Medicine, he taught an elective course in Advanced Crown and Bridge. This course consistently attracted 15 of the best students from the middle of their junior year to the end of their senior year.
Dr. Nagel was a member of the American Dental Association and the
Western Pennsylvania Ondontological Society. He served on the Board of
Directors of the Pittsburgh Zoological Society, which runs the Pittsburgh Zoo, and on the Board of the Animal Rescue League. Dr. Nagel was also a member of the Rotary Club, the University Club and an elder in the Shadyside Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh.
After 48 years of dental practice Dr. Nagel retired in 2005 and lives in Alva, Florida near Ft. Myers.
